The 2025 National Association of Counties Annual Conference Recap

The 2025 National Association of Counties Annual Conference in Philadelphia was nothing short of inspiring. As NACo celebrated its 90th anniversary, county officials from across the country gathered to share ideas, shape policy, and recognize the extraordinary work being done at the local level.

We were honored to celebrate County Executive Ed Romaine and Comptroller John Kennedy, Jr. of Suffolk County, NY, who received 2025 NACo Achievement Awards and were named Best in Category for Financial Management for their Bank Account Collateralization Program. Developed in partnership with three+one, this initiative enhances transparency and safeguards taxpayer dollars by ensuring county funds are properly collateralized.

It was a privilege to present the cashVest 90+ Award to Howard County, MD, recognizing the exemplary leadership of County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball and Finance Director Rafiu Ighile, CPA. This award acknowledges their data-driven financial strategy and unwavering commitment to responsible stewardship for their community.

Some standout moments included the fast-paced NACo EDGE Trivia Event and the vibrant County Fair, both of which brought people together in meaningful and creative ways. These events showcased the best of county leadership: community, camaraderie, and a spirit of innovation.

We left Philadelphia energized by the work ahead and proud to be part of a community so deeply committed to public service.

Together, NACo and three+one share an unwavering commitment to help counties succeed. It is a partnership built on trust, innovation, and a shared goal to empower local leaders with the tools they need to serve their communities effectively.

Thank you, NACo, and every county official who made this event so impactful.
