An Internship That Led to the CUSE50

The CUSE50 celebrates more than entrepreneurship. It honors purpose and recognizes alumni-led companies that turn vision into impact while strengthening communities through innovation, discipline, and heart.

We are proud to share that three+one has once again been named to this distinguished group. For us, this recognition reflects a mission that has guided our work from the start.

That mission began with Peter Forsgren, three+one’s co-founder and COO, whose dedication to public service was shaped during his time at Syracuse University, where he earned his Master of Public Administration. During his MPA program, Peter met Joe Rulison and served as his first intern at Rulison & Co., an experience that sparked the partnership and purpose that would ultimately lead to the creation of three+one.

United by the belief that communities thrive when public institutions have the insight and confidence to make well-informed financial decisions, Peter and Joe built a team committed to that purpose. Today, that team continues to be driven by service, united by impact, and focused on helping public entities move forward with clarity and confidence.

The CUSE50 embodies the values we champion: innovation with integrity, leadership grounded in service, and a commitment to improving communities through smarter stewardship of public resources.

We are grateful to Syracuse University for this recognition and honored to continue the mission that brought us here. Our focus remains on helping communities thrive, one decision at a time.
